On the weekend Su and Keshav we were sitting around the table doing ‘sight’ words from Aalya’s reading homework. She did really well then got stuck on one and just couldn’t figure it out so I thought I’d help by saying a couple of sentences with the word in it. This is what happened:

Me to Keshav “Would you like to have a banana?” (emphasising the HAVE)
Keshav to Me “Yes I would like to have a banana” (emphasising the HAVE)
Me to Keshav “ Go ahead and pick the banana you would like to have" (emphasising the HAVE)
Keshav to Me “OK, I’m going to have this banana” (emphasising the HAVE)

Me to Mu “So what’s the word?”
Mu “Banana”

OMG sooooo funny! And you never just know whether she actually knows and is just playing……
